About Lions International

Loyalty and Fidelity in Service to Humanity:
With the tag of LIBERTY, INTELLIGENCE, OUR NATION'S SAFETY, Lions Clubs was formed in the US by Melvin Jones in 1917 to protect the country from the chaos that the first World War had initiated. 100 years later, the movement spread to 210+ countries, making it the most global thing started by man.

The Lions symbol stands for fidelity/loyalty to a friend, loyalty to a principle, loyalty to a duty, loyalty to a trust. It is 1.45 million caring men and women who are serving together so that they can make a lasting impact and change more lives.

Our Global Causes:
While each Lions club has its own service focus, there are eight common global causes of particular interest around the world. These are the areas of need, which are identified and voted on by the members, and supported by our association and foundation
